Sweatshop workers and blood diamonds miners have similar problems.
Blood diamond miners and sweatshop workers work really hard for their extremely low wages. They work long hours, often in terrible conditions. Sometimes the workers don't get paid at all. The warlords (blood diamonds) can threat the kids instead of paying them. Some workers try to get a bit more by stealing something from the factory or the diamond field. Since diamonds are so small, some people think they can get away with stealing one. If they get caught, they would be punished-badly. Sometimes, death could be the punishment that the warlord/boss will choose. Both the workers and the miners also work in extremely hot climates. In sweatshops, the windows are usually closed and barred. The bosses were paranoid that the the workers would try to sneak out. Since the windows are closed, it's always hot and humid. Miners have to deal with heat of their own. Usually, blood diamonds are mined in Africa. This warm country is right by the equator so it's always hot there. The miners have to find small diamonds in the blazing hot sun. Finally, both situations are extremely dangerous, especially for the children. There's a lot of machinery the workers need in order to do their job correctly. Both are serious issues that are happening around the world today and need to be stopped.
